Jessica has worked in education for 10+ years, playing many roles including; elementary teacher, leadership coach, ELA coach, Assistant Principal, and her current role. She has a completed Master’s’ degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Oswego College and a second Master’s’ degree in Educational Leadership from Fordham University. Mrs. West knew she wanted to be in education at a very young age; after beginning her career as a Kindergarten teacher, her determination and love for learning pushed her to think about how she can use her experience to help classrooms/teachers/students on a more broad spectrum. Literacy has always been and always will be her first love; she wanted to support all students in this content area but also learn more about different literacy programs. These two ideas brought her to the amazing community of Mott Haven and she has been growing ever since. On her downtime, she enjoys watching football with her husband and playing in the snow with her dog, JJ Watt.
