Teacher –
Theresa is very excited to join the Haven Academy team this year as a fourth-grade teacher. She grew up in New Jersey and attended college in Virginia. She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Spanish and Elementary Education from the University of Richmond. After graduation, Theresa moved across the country to begin her teaching career as a 2009 Teach for America Corps member in the Bay Area. She taught high school Spanish for three years in Richmond, California, before deciding to return to the elementary school classroom. While living in Northern California, Theresa also spent a year teaching kindergarten and sixth grade. Theresa returned to the east coast this year and looks forward to working with the students and staff at Haven. In her free time, Theresa enjoys traveling, reading, Zumba, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors.
