Our Green Building
In order to foster success in all of our scholars, it was our vision to design a school that removes the barriers children in the child welfare system face by providing support services in our school, during the school day. This model ensures that students miss less school while still getting the social support services they need. A major component to achieving this vision is our co-location with The New York Foundling’s Bronx-based community services.
A new, LEED certified, environmentally friendly building was developed at 170 Brown Place. This new building, owned and operated by The New York Foundling, is the home for Mott Haven Academy Charter School as well as The New York Foundling’s Bronx Community Services.
The school opened at a temporary location in PS 43 in 2008. Mott Haven Academy Charter moved to its new building, directly across the street in 2010, which is where the school currently operates.
