Assistant Principal (3-5) – Tyler Griffin is a consultant, school leader, and forever a teacher who has dedicated his career to advancing equity and achievement in schools. He attended Wabash College, Johns Hopkins University, and Columbia University, and began his career with Teach For America in Atlanta before serving as an instructional coach and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness facilitator. In New York, he became the Founding Assistant Principal of Curriculum & Instruction at an all-girls school in Bedford-Stuyvesant, where the inaugural class achieved a 100% graduation rate, 100% college acceptance, and nearly $1 million in scholarships. He later led as a turnaround principal in East Harlem, graduating the school’s first senior class, and has since supported multiple NYC schools in improvement and leadership development. Tyler is now excited to join Haven Academy and the South Bronx community.
