Vanessa Jenkins was born and raised in the South Bronx. Growing up she would often assist her mother teaching Sunday School in her church. This was the catalyst that began her journey to becoming a teacher. Additionally, Vanessa had an interest in visual arts and graduated from Parsons, New School University with a bachelors in fine arts with a focus on design and technology. With encouragement from her mother, she went on to receive her masters in Early Childhood Education. Utilizing her education and personal experience her goal is to foster creative thinking and freedom of expression in her classroom. Vanessa is excited and grateful to be a part of the amazing team at Mott Haven Academy.
