Middle School Principal – In my 13 years in education, I have served in various teaching and leadership roles, most recently as a high school principal. However, no role has made me prouder than this opportunity to lead a community that truly understands and addresses the unique needs of its students.
Born and raised in South Jamaica, Queens, I experienced firsthand the transformative power of education. As a child, I commuted over an hour and a half each way by myself to attend a school offering better opportunities. This experience, alongside a parent who navigated the foster care system as a child and my own experiences with housing insecurity growing up, instilled in me a deep awareness of educational disparities and a commitment to addressing them.
Haven embodies what I longed for in my own community as a child.I am committed to building a school community focused on predictability, academic rigor, and joy.
