Toni Lynn Palmer was born in Baton Rouge, LA, and was raised in Harlem. She recognized her desire to teach at eight years old. In her youth, she earned a scholarship to attend art classes at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Toni pursued her art study and graduated from Music and Art High School (now Laguardia) with honors. She worked in corporate America for twenty years before realizing her dream of teaching. In January 2014, Toni earned her Master of Science degree, specializing in Early Childhood Education.
Toni is committed to a holistic approach to education. She taught kindergarten at Haven four years and is now extremely grateful to be the Lower Elementary School Art instructor. She is the proud mother of two sons, and one grandson. Toni is an active member of her church and enjoys reading, cooking, and volunteering. She is especially fond of spending time with her grandson. Toni is delighted to support Haven scholars’ creativity in the visual and studio arts.
