Julia grew up in Portland, Maine. She received her Bachelors in English and Creative Writing from Colby College. After school, she moved to Jefferson, Maine, and taught at KieveWavus Education, focusing on helping local middle school students develop social-emotional skills through outdoor, experiential programming. However, during her time there, she realized that she was enthusiastic about teaching elementary aged students, and received a certificate of graduate study from the University of Southern Maine in K-6 education. She is passionate about meeting the social-emotional needs of all students, and is so excited to continue doing meaningful work with students at Haven!
