After-school Director and IT Manager
As a South Bronx native who grew up not too far from Haven Academy, Mr. Garcia has dedicated over 20 years of community service to our neighborhood. Mr. Garcia started his service at the young age of only 13 years old as a volunteer for The Ranch, a youth leadership program at the time in the South Bronx.
After a couple of years of service, he was assigned a leadership role in this program, which he held for several years and has maintained as a steadfast leader of the Haven community.
Due to his relationship with different organizations, he was able to work for a few Camps organizations where he held many positions, from a counselor in his beginning years to Director. Soon after this, Mr. Garcia was asked to join the Mott Haven Academy team. Today, Mr. Garcia supports our Afterschool Partners and our school with all Technology needs.
He is always seeking out key opportunities to support the growth of our students further. Every day he brings a sense of pride into his work and a desire to help students succeed. Mr. Garcia is as consistent with our families and students as it gets! Next time you see him, feel free to say hi and ask him what he likes to do in his spare time. It may surprise you!
