Sarah grew up in Pennsylvania and New Jersey before moving to Upstate New York to attend Syracuse University. During her time at Syracuse, Sarah completed an honors thesis which focused on alternative forms of communication. This research allowed Sarah to publish a children’s book that showcases different forms of communication in a developmentally friendly way for elementary-aged students. She also had five different classroom placements that allowed her to work in a variety of school settings. After completing two placements in NYC, Sarah knew she wanted to move and work here after graduation. She is dual certified in Childhood Education (grades 1-6) and Students with Disabilities (grades 1-6). Sarah is delighted to be working at Haven Academy and looks forward to building meaningful relationships with students, families, staff, and the community. When Sarah is not teaching she enjoys going on hikes, traveling, and playing board games.
