Mia was born in Canada and grew up in Texas, but she loves living in New York and teaching at Haven Academy. Mia earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She then moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she taught elementary and middle school. After finally making her way to NYC, Mia worked in a curriculum office within the Department of Education, and enrolled in a Master’s program in Special Education at Hunter College. When she’s not teaching, you might find Mia building interactive dioramas for her two pet guinea pigs.
