Born and raised in Florida, Alexa moved to New York City in 2016 to attend New York University, where she received her MSW a year later. As a part of this program, she interned at Haven Academy, providing individual counseling for scholars and support for Haven families.
Prior to interning at Haven Academy, Alexa interned at a multidisciplinary center for children experiencing Autism Spectrum Disorder. There she worked alongside play therapists and social workers, expanding her passion for working in social services.
Alexa is excited to rejoin the Haven Academy team full time as the Family and Student Specialist for Pre-K through First Grade. She is thrilled to be working with children in an educational setting focusing on social emotional development and partnering with families to support scholars.
In her free time, she enjoys working out, spending time with family, and eating ice cream. Alexa is eager to continue her career as a social worker at Haven Academy.
