A graduate of Wright State University with a major in Dance Performance, Erin spent four years working as a professional dancer, including a year-long residency with Disney Cruise Lines. Returning to school to pursue a career in education, Erin earned her Master’s of Science in Teaching from Pace University of New York. After one year teaching Kindergarten at P.S. 7 in Queens, Erin joined the Bronx Charter Schools for the Arts, teaching Second Grade and Kindergarten over the course of five years. Erin joined the Haven Academy staff in 2010. After three years teaching Kindergarten, Erin was honored to become the founding teacher leader for the newly developed Little Haven Pre-K Program, the role she enthusiastically oversees today. Erin has earned her National Board Teaching Certification. She is also a facilitator with Bank Street College, which teaches proven social-emotional curriculum to Pre-K teachers across New York City. Erin is most passionate about purposeful play, a teaching philosophy which fosters social-emotional skills and academic growth through play for deeper classroom learning.
