Morayo Faleyimu was born and raised in Miami, Fl and saw her first snowfall when she moved to New York City for college. After graduating from New York University, she worked briefly for the Brooklyn Public Library system before joining the 2009 Miami-Dade Teach for America Corps. She taught kindergarten and first grade for 3 years in Homestead, Fl and moved back to the NYC metro area to teach first grade in Newark, NJ. After four years with elementary school students, Morayo joined Citizen Schools and directed an expanded learning time program at the Bronx Writing Academy. Following that, she managed two college chapters of Peer Health Exchange in New York City, coaching college volunteers as they facilitated a health curriculum in 9th and 10th grade NYC classrooms. She is thrilled to be at Haven Academy as a Restorative Practices Specialist and is looking forward to building scholars’ social and emotional skill set.
