Terrie was born and grew up on a 120 acre farm in Tennessee. She has fond memories of her great grandmother, grandmother,,and mother harvesting food from the farm to feed their family and neighbors. Farm to table and seasonal eating was a way of life. Armed with a firm understanding of permaculture and Southern Cuisine she moved to New York to explore a more diverse cuisine and culture .After years of school and travel her determination and grit led her to work and cook with other great Chefs. Eventually she opened up two restaurants and two Cafes. After many years of success in the restaurant world she decided to redirect her love of people and food to the students and staff at Mott Haven. This is her fifth year at Mott Haven and she still has big dreams of farming and food for her Haven Family.
