Born in the Dominican Republic, six-year-old Jardy Santana moved with her family to the South Bronx. Inspired by her first-grade teacher, she developed a lifelong passion for teaching that led her back to her roots as a charter school educator in the South Bronx. Her academic credentials demonstrate a deep commitment to educational excellence: she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and Childhood Education (1-6) from CUNY Hunter’s QUEST Education Program, a Master’s Degree in Special Education (1-6) from Touro University, and an Advanced Certificate in TESOL from CUNY Hunter. During Hunter College’s 223rd Commencement, her award-winning academic work was recognized with the inaugural Professor Anne Ediger Excellence in Academics and Research Award for her stellar achievements in the TESOL program.Each day, Jardy brings a strong sense of pride, high energy, and a dedication to student success directly into the classroom. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her children Jay and Jeter, baking delicious treats, exploring new places, searching for NYC’s best burger, and reading.
