Elementary School Principal (PK-2) –
Vyasa is a New York City native and a proud graduate of the NYC public school system. Driven by a lifelong commitment to public service and educational equity, she earned dual Bachelor’s degrees from Syracuse University in Political Science and Policy Studies, with a concentration in Urban Education Policy.
After a range of experiences in both the NYC public school system and Syracuse City School District, Vyasa decided she needed to be a part of the educational movement to provide all children with a high-quality education. She began her teaching journey at Haven Academy through Teach For America in 2009. Since starting her career in education, she has also earned a Master’s degree in Childhood Education from CUNY Hunter College and an M.S.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Lehman College.
Having served Haven Academy from the very start of her career, Vyasa is dedicated to nurturing a joyful, high-quality learning environment where students and staff alike are empowered to be lifelong learners and compassionate community members. Outside of Haven, she loves traveling, crafting, diving into new books and audiobooks, and exploring NYC’s vibrant food scene.
