Lower School Principal (PreK-2)
Mike was born in Brooklyn and raised in both Brooklyn and New Jersey. After graduating from Rutgers University, Mike began his career in education as a New York City Teaching Fellow in 2001. At the same time, he earned an MS in Elementary Education from Lehman College. He spent eleven years as a classroom teacher. Mike also earned a MA in School Leadership from Montclair State University and completed a residency program for New Leaders for New Schools under the mentorship of Haven founder, Jessica Nauiokas. Mike has eight years of experience in school leadership positions. He brings a passion for education, a love for children, and a belief that all teachers can thrive if given the right support. Outside of Haven, Mike loves spending time with his wife and three beautiful children. If there is a trail to hike, a game to play, or a book to read, he’s all in!
