Joanna was born in The Bronx, N.Y., but was raised in Peekskill, N.Y. She has earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Iona University and she also holds her Master of Divinity from Drew University. Upon graduation, Joanna has been dedicated and committed to helping young people become the best version of themselves on every possible level. She has organized and lead countless youth workshops, retreats, seminars, conferences, trips, family sessions, summer camps, and many more encounters that educate youth, youth workers, educators, and families.
Joanna’s authenticity, personality, ability to learn quickly, listen actively, observe intentionally, and get along well with others allows her to be an effective teacher and co-worker. She is zealous about and genuinely enjoys effective teaching, inspiring, encouraging, and learning. Joanna’s educational and hands-on experiences have equipped her with phenomenal tools that boost her ability thrive as an educator. Her patient, loving, caring, outgoing, and positive personality offers peace to those she encounters. Joanna prefers the holistic approach to teaching because students excel academically with the presence and support of an honest cheerleader.
